Can This Marriage Be Saved?

Was one of your New Year’s Resolutions to work on your marriage? People want to lose weight but seldom put ‘save my marriage’ on the list.

If you feel like there is no hope for your marriage, maybe you should consider making your marriage a priority this year.

There are many reasons why you may be wondering if there is any hope for your marriage. You may have a lack of intimacy, or you can’t forgive your spouse for something – like an affair.

You may feel like you no longer have anything in common or that the love is just gone.

Many couples don’t realize how much marriage counseling can help their relationship. They think nothing will help their relationship or the problems are just unsurmountable.

You may even feel like things are so bad between you that the next step will be divorce.

Counseling can help.

You probably were reminded there were many good things about your marriage over the holidays. There’s been some great times and you’ve made some wonderful, loving memories together. You’ve even put up with each other’s family. There is a history between you.

The memories made you wonder if what you have can be saved. Your history together deserves for you to at least try.

Don’t let pride get in the way. You may think that the problems in your marriage are your spouse’s fault or vice versa. I can help you move beyond placing blame to repairing the foundation of your relationship.

Good communication skills can help you discuss your problems instead

of making little problems fester into something bigger that can drive a wedge between you.

And there is no shame in wanting to work on your marriage; in fact, it takes courage. Courage to say “Maybe I was wrong.”

Sometimes, it’s not even a matter of who was wrong but just moving forward despite the past. As you move beyond those conflicts, your relationship can start the healing process.

Without help, you may fall back in the same patterns that have left you feeling lonely in a relationship and thinking, “This is it. This is a good as it will be.”

A relationship needs attention and nurturing in order to be maintained and marriage counseling can help you learn how to do this naturally.

Wouldn’t you like to be able to talk with your spouse without fighting? Or to be able to look forward to spending time with them again? It may seem like it won’t be possible but it can be. I can offer you tools that can make this possible.

Trying to save your marriage can be a rewarding process. It can remind you why you fell in love in the first place and bring those old emotions and feelings back to the surface.

I can help you evaluate where you are in the relationship, and help you learn how to work on the problems – the intimacy, the trust, whatever it is that has torn at your relationship.

You don’t know where to start. But I do. At least talking it out with me can help you really decide how to proceed.

I want to emphasize that if your partner does not want to get the education that counseling offers YOU do have the option to come

and make changes in yourself. When individuals come for their own personal growth often the people around them change as well.
